Archery Fest 2025

Dates: June 13th -14th (Friday-Saturday)
Time: 9:30 am – 7:30 pm Friday & Saturday

Location: Blair County Game Fish and Forestry Association
Costs: Walk back Tournament $5 (cash prize to winners)
3D Courses $5 for youth (per day), $15 for adults (per day)
Novelty Shoot Tickets $5 for 10 tickets, each station requires 1 ticket

What types of shooting will be involved?

The only type of shooting events will be archery related.

What type of bow and arrows are allowed?

Only traditional recurve and long bows. There is no restriction on arrows. (No compound or cross bows) Official NASP equipment is allowed.

How much does it cost?

Adults $15 per day (fee covers use of both 3D Archery Courses) Ages 17 and under are $5. (Additional costs for other events may apply, ex. Walk back tournament $5, kids games 10 tickets for $5.)

Camping for Thurs. to Sun. is available: $10 for Cars/Trucks (Tent camping), $20 for Campers.

Will there be food on site?

The Kitchen will be open for lunch and dinner Friday and Saturday. Menu will be provided closer to the event.

Will there be Seminars?

Throughout Friday and Saturday free seminars will be available. You do not have to be a paid shooter to attend. Schedule will be released closer to the event.

Camping (whole weekend):

$10 for cars, trucks and tents, $20 for campers Arrival- 5pm on Thursday at earliest Departure- 10 am on Sunday at latest

Archery Fest Workshop Descriptions

Advanced Shooting Techniques for Adults with Ron Rohrbaugh

Don’t miss that big buck next season! The pressure of hunting or competition can cause even the most accurate shooters to miss. In this workshop, Ron Rohrbaugh will tell the story of his past struggles and how he almost gave up archery. He will teach participants how to gain shot control through establishing a repeatable process that short circuits buck fever and target panic. This 45 minute workshop is open to everyone.

Archery 101 for Adults with Rusty Reed

Were you a kid with a love for bows and arrows but never got your chance to really learn? Have you ever wanted to experience shooting with these traditional hunting implements but didn’t know where to start? Come join Rusty Reed for an introduction to archery course that will inspire you and encourage you in this awesome skill!

Archery 101 for Young Shooters with Ron Rohrbaugh

Learning archery is a great way to teach kids patience, motor skills, and confidence. Ron Rohrbaugh will provide one-on-one coaching for kids 5-16 years old as they shoot targets and get a chance to test their skill by popping a few balloons. The goal is to have fun, while learning to shoot or improving your existing skills. All equipment will be provided for this one-hour session.

NASP Demo with Arrows Christian Academy

NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) is the fastest growing archery program across the country! In Pennsylvania alone, there are over 10,000 students who participate. Grades 4-12 compete in tournaments on state and national levels. Archery is a great way to get kids focused and putting effort into something that gives them self-confidence and an opportunity to excel. Join us for a brief demo into this style of competitive archery and learn how to get more involved in this awesome program!

Natural Cordage with the Keefer Family

This short workshop will present types of materials and techniques needed to make natural cordage. Cordage has many different uses including traditional archery application.

Primitive Archery Equipment with Gary Keefer

How did indigenous people make archery equipment to survive? Gary will present techniques and tips for how to create primitive archery materials and inspire you with the benefits of engaging with this ancient art!

Stop the Bleed with Kermit Alwine

What should you do if you are injured and bleeding uncontrollably? What if someone you care for, your significant other, or friend is suffering from a life-threatening bleed? Do you have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to save a life? These life-threatening bleeds can occur anywhere!

Wild Edibles with Morielle Danevicius

Spark your curiosity for foraging wild edibles in this introductory workshop. You will learn the basics about plant identification and how to observe the details that set plants, berries, nuts, etc. apart from each other, and grow in your confidence about all the bounty that nature has to offer.

Ron Rohrbaugh is a professional conservation biologist, award-winning author, and YouTuber at the Living Wild Family channel. He is an accomplished traditional bowhunter and ardent supporter of protecting America’s wild places.
