Saturday, March 7
Start Time: 9:00 AM (until finished)
Lunch: Provided for volunteers (Ham Pot Pie)
As many of you have noticed and brought to our attention, the ranges took a beating this winter. Because of frozen ground and cold weather, we’ve been limited in what repairs we could complete. Now that conditions are improving, we need member help to get everything back in shape and ready for safe use.
Work Needed
Pistol / Shotgun Range
- Set new posts for the 10-yard target
- Install steel T-posts at 25-yard and 50-yard
- Replace all backers
- Repair rubber shotgun targets
Taylor Rifle Range
- Replace backers
- Clean up trash and brass
High Power Range
- Backer repairs
- 25-yard and 50-yard backers may need replaced
- 200-yard and 300-yard backers need checked and repaired as needed
Bud’s Steel Range
- General cleanup and maintenance to ensure everything is safe
Range Closures
During the March 7 work day, ranges will be periodically closed while repairs are being completed.
If we do not get enough help to finish the work on Saturday, we will continue repairs on Tuesday, March 10 starting at 9:00 AM, and additional range closures may occur then as well.
We currently have over 1,400 members, yet on non-event workdays we usually see the same 15 or so volunteers, with an average age around 65. We truly need more hands to keep the club running strong and the ranges safe for everyone.
If we can get enough help this Saturday, we can knock out most of this work quickly. Every person and every hour makes a difference.
Thank you in advance for pitching in.
