November at Blair Game: Hours, Events & Range Updates

Here’s what’s happening at Blair County Game, Fish & Forestry Association this November, including winter hours, range updates, sight-in days, and opportunities to get involved.

Winter Hours

Lodge: 8:30 AM–5 PM, except Wednesdays.
Wednesdays: Noon–5 PM.

You must be signed in before the lodge closes.

Ranges: 8:30 AM until dusk. Please finish shooting, clean up, and be off the range before dusk.

Important Range & Property Notices

Pistol/Shotgun Range construction: Beginning Wednesday, October 28, the range will be closed while the contractor is working. Construction will take place over multiple days. No alternative short-range or shotgun targets will be available during these closures. We will announce when work is complete.

October 30 closures: The Trap Field and High Power Range will be closed until 3 PM for a youth event. The pond, pavilion, and garage area will also be closed.

No Sunday hunting: Hunting is not permitted on Blair Game property on Sundays. This property rule does not prevent scheduled Sunday range activities, including sight-in days.

Parking: Use designated parking areas, follow posted signs, and keep gates and access routes clear. The area in front of Taylor Range is for drop-offs only. Do not park beside the tree at the 25-yard end of Taylor Range or beneath the large pine tree to the left of the garage.

Sight-In Days: November 21, 22 & 27

Join us Saturday, November 21; Sunday, November 22; or Friday, November 27 to prepare for hunting season.

Range Officers will oversee Taylor Range during these busy days. Taylor Range will be restricted to Pennsylvania-legal hunting rifles.

During sight-in days, the High Power Range will be the only location available for non-hunting rifles. Space is limited and will also be used by hunters sighting in at longer distances. For recreational shooting, we recommend choosing another day.

Bore sighting will be available for $5 per rifle.

Help With Our Christmas Float

We’re collecting candy for the Christmas parades on December 5 and 6. Donations may be placed in the collection tote inside the lodge.

Float workdays are November 10, 16, and 30. Anyone interested in helping decorate is welcome! Contact admin@blairgame.com for details.
